4. WILLIAM HONE Jnr

The fourth child and the first son of William and Sarah Hone, was, not so unpredictably called William. He lived a short life (1807 to 1827). He was found dead in his hammock on 18 October 1827 at his naval barracks. William had been appointed to HMS Procris.

William writes of his son.."First, however, I must thank you for the consolatory sentiments you express towards us in our affliction, for the loss of our dear boy, William respecting whom we have since heard he was found dead in his hammock, in Leith Roads and that he appeared to have expired three hours before, having gone to rest in apparent health".
