12. ALICE HONE & Jean-Baptise Lovati & Henri-Auguste Fourdinois

The baby of the Hone family was Alice Hone (12 December 1825 to 1914?). Alice was married first to Jean-Baptise Lovati and second to Henri-Auguste Fourdinois (1830-1907).

Alice lived in France and then in Bizerte, Tunisia. From September 1869 to September 1870 during the siege of Paris she lived with her sister Matilda.

With her first husband, Jean-Baptise Lovati, Alice had:

1.  Alice Romola Lovati (1847 - 1851). Born in St George Hanover Square, Alice was three when she died and is buried in Abney Park possibly with her grandfather William Hone.

2. Agnes Francesca Lovati (1850 - ?) Born in St Giles London in December 1850, Agnes married Henri Jean Salme and had Alex Lucie Salme. Alex married Elie Felix Bouillot.

With her second husband, Henri-Auguste Fourdinois (1830-1907) who she married in December 1852, Alice had :

1. Emma Adele Fourdinois (1859 - 1890) married Joseph Jules Ernest Roulez (18? -1894) in 1890 (date to be confirmed). Emma and Joseph had 1 daughter, Juliette Henriette Alice born May 14, 1880. Juliette married Georges Roger (1869 - ?) in Aube, France in 1901.

2. Angeline (also known as Angele Alice Fourdinois) (1869 -?) married 1892 Gabriel Sanze (son of Leon Sanze and Rosalie Foucher). In the 1906 French Census, Angele is listed as living with her father in law Leon and a Marie Charlet (possibly Leon's new wife or a maid). There is no mention of husband Gabriel. The spelling of their last name has changed from Sanze to Sanse.

Henri-Auguste Fourdinois was a famous cabinetmaker and member of the House of Fourdinois family. You can see some his work here. Henri created many incredibly beautiful pieces, including these chairs and this cabinet.

We are incredibly thankful to David Evans (descendant of William Hone through Fanny Hone) for providing us with these beautiful photos of Alice Hone.
