Matilda Hone (1805 to 1884) was the third daughter of William and Sarah Hone. Matilda never married. She is listed in the 1861 Census as being a School Mistress at St Marys, Milner Square. In her earlier life, she worked as a print seller and had a shop in Little Bell Alley. A story about Matilda being granted a licence to operate the Grasshopper Coffee House can be viewed here.
By 1881, Matilda is living with her sister Ellen Soul as were Fanny Hemsley and Rose Hone.
